Publishing your app on Google Play and the App Store

Is your app ready but not live yet, or got rejected? I publish it on Google Play and the App Store and take it through Google and Apple review. I’ve shipped more than 20 apps to the stores.

What I prepare

  • The store listing: name, short and full description, keywords.
  • Icon, screenshots and the 1024×500 feature graphic for Google Play.
  • A privacy policy page, which both stores require.
  • Google Play’s Data safety and content rating forms, and App Store privacy details.
  • A test account for reviewers if your app has a login.

Common rejection reasons

  • The app lets users create an account but not delete it; Apple and Google require deletion.
  • Data collection isn’t declared correctly in the privacy policy or Data safety form.
  • The app looks like a wrapped website or has too little functionality.
  • The reviewer can’t log in, or the app crashes on launch.

I check for these up front, and if your app was rejected, I fix it and resubmit.

The process

  1. I review the app against store guidelines, bugs and required pages.
  2. I build and sign the release: an AAB for Google, a release build for Apple.
  3. I fill in the listing, graphics and forms.
  4. I submit for review and answer reviewer questions.
  5. After launch, I ship your updates the same way.

Timeline

App Store review usually takes 1–2 days; Google Play review takes from a few hours to a few days. New accounts can take longer.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to publish an app on Google Play?

A Google Play Console account, a signed AAB, the store listing and graphics, a privacy policy link, and the Data safety and content rating forms.

How long does App Store review take?

Usually 1–2 days. If there are questions or a rejection, about the same again after resubmitting.

My app was rejected. Can you help?

Yes. I read the rejection reason, fix the app or store details and resubmit.

What if I don’t have a developer account?

I’ll get your D-U-N-S number and open the organization accounts too, then we publish the app.
