Opening organization developer accounts on Google Play and the App Store

To publish apps under your company name you need organization accounts on Google Play Console and the Apple Developer Program. I handle everything from the D-U-N-S number to passing verification. The account and its logins stay fully with you.

Personal vs organization accounts

  • An organization account shows your company name in the store; a personal one shows a person’s name.
  • New personal Google Play accounts must run a closed test with at least 12 testers for 14 days before release. Organization accounts don’t have this requirement.
  • Organization accounts make it easy to add team members with roles and keep the account if the business changes hands.

What you’ll need

  • A D-U-N-S number. If you don’t have one, I’ll get it.
  • A company website and domain (an Apple requirement) and an email on that domain.
  • A person with authority to sign on behalf of the company.
  • An international Visa or Mastercard for the official fees.

Official fees

  • Google Play Console: a one-time US$25.
  • Apple Developer Program: US$99 per year.

These are paid directly to Google and Apple. My service fee is agreed separately.

The process

  1. I prepare your details and match them against the D-U-N-S record.
  2. I open the Google Play Console organization account and complete verification.
  3. I enroll you in the Apple Developer Program as an organization; Apple may call to confirm.
  4. I set up payments, tax and banking details if you sell apps or subscriptions.
  5. I add your team members with the right roles.
